An impacted wisdom teeth is stuck under the gum, usually embedded in the jawbone. There are reasons to justify extracting them even though you have no symptoms. When a wisdom tooth is partially embedded in the gums and part of the crown is exposed in the mouth, there is a pocket between the gums and the tooth and this area can easily get affected. When this happens, it usually keeps getting infected.

It does not have to be this way! Gum disease is easily prevented and gum treatment can be non-surgical, using a simple, antibacterial program pioneered in the 1970s by Dr. Paul Keyes (Keyes Technique).
